A useful first job for an AI agent is preparing tomorrow’s agenda from a calendar and a few project notes. A poor first job is “manage my work for me.” The first has a result you can check. The second leaves the agent to decide which commitments, messages and files matter before you have seen how it handles any of them.
This guide explains how to use Meta Muse AI for everyday work without turning delegation into an open-ended permission grant. The examples share a fictional project, Cedar, preparing a small customer workshop. They are instructions to adapt, not transcripts or observed Muse outputs.
Our research and testing policy explains why source verification and product execution are different evidence.
Quick start: Try one task without connecting apps
Check access first
Check whether Muse is available for your actual account and country. If the official sign-up flow says it is unavailable, stop there.
Open the official service
Use the official Muse app or service, follow Meta’s documented account setup and open the Chat tab.
Use harmless notes
Begin with fictional or non-sensitive notes, such as the invented Cedar workshop details below.
Request a small draft
Ask for one reviewable agenda or schedule proposal rather than broad autonomous work.
Review the result
Check facts, dates, assumptions and missing information before relying on the output.
Keep external actions off
Do not authorize external actions in this first exercise. Decline requests to access apps or change records; prompt instructions do not replace permission controls.
Quick start practice — UNEXECUTED example
Using only these fictional Cedar workshop notes, prepare a proposed agenda and list missing information.
Notes:
- Prepare the agenda before noon.
- Keep the client call fixed at 2:00 PM.
- Allow time for room preparation.
Ask for the timezone and missing durations rather than inventing them.
Return a draft schedule, unresolved questions and assumptions.
Do not access connected apps, create calendar events, send messages or change files.
What Meta Muse is—and which product you are looking at
Muse is Meta’s personal AI agent: it can use a dedicated browser environment, work with supported connections and continue some tasks in the background. Its value is coordinating steps toward a result, such as finding the relevant messages, preparing a brief and proposing the next action. You still need to decide whether the result is correct and whether the action should happen.
Meta product names describe different kinds of accessSwipe or scroll horizontally to compare every column.
Name
What it refers to
What it does not establish
Muse personal agent
A user-facing agent with chats, tasks, browser and connections
Availability of every connector, country or model for your account
Meta AI
The separate assistant/chatbot experience on Meta surfaces
Automatic access to Muse or its personal-agent controls
Muse Spark
A model family underlying agentic and developer products
A personal Muse account or permission to your applications
Muse Wonder / Wonder Full
New models announced on 12 October
Completed Wonder rollout to all personal Muse users
Muse for Small Business
Business skills and connections inside Muse
A universally available autonomous customer-support service
Calling a product a chatbot is not proof it cannot use tools. The practical distinction here is the actual experience: which services it can access, what it can change, how it asks for permission and where you inspect its work. Start from those controls rather than the label “agent.”
The 12 October Wonder announcement makes the rollout distinction explicit. Wonder was made available through Meta Model API and Muse Code, while Wonder Full was available to Muse Code subscribers. Personal Muse experiences were described as coming soon, rolling out first to subscribers. A developer release therefore does not mean the Muse account on your phone already uses Wonder.
Check country, platform and plan before setting up
Meta’s September personal-agent launch described a US rollout. The later Small Business announcement explicitly described Muse availability in the US and Canada. Current help warns that Muse and individual features are not available everywhere. These sources do not establish worldwide availability, and we found no official confirmation of a Pakistan rollout. That is an evidence limit, not a prediction about a future release.
Use the official Muse page and its download links. Current documentation covers web, iPhone, Android and Mac; the launch also described WhatsApp conversations. Do not infer a Windows personal Muse app from a Windows download for Muse Code. On a work account, check your organization’s rules before connecting business data, even if the consumer app is available in your country.
Free use has limits. Meta’s current subscription help describes Power and Maximum plans, larger usage allowances and availability that can vary by region and account. A subscription is not a promise that every connector or newly announced model has reached your account. Check the plan shown to you, renewal terms and actual available controls before paying. No localized checkout price or account eligibility was tested for this guide.
If the official sign-up flow says the service is unavailable, stop there. Do not use an unofficial access site, shared account or location workaround to obtain it. You can still use the delegation worksheet below to prepare a bounded task for a service your organization permits.
Set up one small task and inspect existing access
Meta’s getting-started guide uses a Meta Account and the Chat tab. Open the official service or app, complete its legitimate sign-in flow and give Muse a clear task. For a first exercise, use invented or non-sensitive material: “Turn these three workshop notes into an agenda and list what is missing.” Ask for a proposal before adding calendar or inbox access. Side chats help organize topics; they should not be treated as separate privacy compartments.
Inspect connections before adding another. Meta says Facebook, Instagram and Threads can be connected automatically when they share the relevant Accounts Center. A blank task does not necessarily mean a blank access history. Check which services are already linked and whether the account is the personal or business account you intended.
For a supported connection, the documented path is Settings → Connectors → Connect beside the service → read the connection information → Continue → the provider’s authorization flow. Review the requested access there. Read-only options depend on the underlying service; do not promise a restricted mode the provider does not offer. Connect only what the current task needs.
Gmail is documented as a connection example. The Small Business announcement names additional work tools, including Slack, Notion, Asana, Box, Dropbox, Canva and professional Meta accounts. The full list and available actions in your Muse settings govern what you can actually use. A service appearing in an announcement does not establish every action on every plan, and a custom connector is not necessarily reviewed by Meta.
Keep passwords, API keys and recovery codes out of chat. Use the supported provider authorization or protected credential flow. A connection makes data available to another service; do not attach a whole customer mailbox when a short approved answer packet would solve the task.
Use real permission controls alongside your prompt
Open Settings → Permissions before an agent task that can interact with connected services. Meta documents “Ask for some actions,” which asks for every write and important reads, and “Always ask,” which asks for any action. Web, site, task and artifact permissions have their own scopes. Inspect the actual settings rather than assuming a single connector switch governs all browsing.
Start with Always ask where appropriate and use Allow once for a specific action you have inspected. Broader task, site or ongoing allowances can change later prompts. Read See task details and confirm the target service, affected record, recipient, content and scope. For an email, check the actual addresses, attachments and quoted thread; a friendly contact name can hide a wrong recipient.
A sentence such as “do not send” is a useful instruction. It is not an access-control boundary. Combine it with the available permission settings, review cards and your decision to decline an unexpected action. If an agent requests a broader permission than the task needs, pause and narrow the task instead of granting it merely to remove friction.
Delegate, Review, Approve is our proposed review framework. The final destination check closes the loop. Prompt wording guides the agent; product permissions and human approval control access and consequential actions. No executed Muse result is shown.
Delegate, Review, Approve: write a useful task brief
A good brief identifies the object you want back: a proposed schedule, a reply draft, an evidence-linked status note or a file in a named format. Then define the allowed source set and the point where Muse must stop. “Use these project notes” is more reviewable than “find anything relevant in my accounts.”
Reusable delegation brief — proposed, not executed
Goal: [one concrete result].
Allowed sources: [specific files, threads or official pages].
Exclude: [private material and unrelated accounts].
Constraints: [timezone, budget, deadline, preserved commitments].
First return a proposal with source links and unresolved questions.
Separate documented facts from your suggestions.
Do not send, publish, purchase, delete or change external records.
Before an important action, show the exact destination and change for review.
If a source is unavailable or a requirement conflicts, stop and explain the gap.
Review has two parts. First check the reasoning against the source: dates, names, numbers, conditions and anything the agent has inferred. Then check the proposed external action independently. A correct summary can still become a wrong calendar event if its timezone, invitees or duration are changed during creation.
Approve only the action that now has a clear purpose and accurate content. Afterward inspect the destination service, not just the chat confirmation. Save the link or record identifier you need for later review. This gives you a recovery point when a task stops halfway through.
Plan a day without quietly moving commitments
For the fictional Cedar workshop, suppose your approved notes say: keep the client call at 14:00, finish the agenda before noon, and allow time to prepare the room. Your calendar may also contain private events the workshop team should not see. The useful output is a proposed plan with conflicts, not an automatically reshuffled day.
Requirements: an eligible calendar connection or a manually supplied, permitted schedule; an explicit date and timezone; task durations and protected commitments. Meta documents calendar conflicts and rescheduling as productivity uses. If the relevant write action is not available, keep the output as a plan and update the calendar yourself.
Day-planning proposal — fictional input
Prepare a proposed workday for the fictional Cedar workshop.
Use only the selected calendar date and these approved tasks:
agenda before noon; room preparation before the workshop; client call fixed at 14:00.
Timezone: [your actual timezone]. Ask for missing durations.
Do not move events, add invitees or create reminders yet.
Return a time-block proposal, conflicts, assumed buffers and unresolved choices.
Describe private calendar blocks as unavailable without exposing their details.
Check that the plan respects the real date, timezone, travel or preparation buffers and event ownership. An empty calendar slot may be reserved informally, and an invitation from someone else may not be yours to move. Approve one clearly specified change at a time. If a new event appears twice or confirmation is missing, inspect the calendar before repeating the request.
Triage email and prepare a reply you can defend
Inbox automation is most useful when the sorting rule is visible. Define a narrow date range or project label and ask for a list of messages requiring a response, action or no immediate work. Keep personal, legal, financial and unrelated customer material outside the scope unless its use is separately approved.
With a supported email connection, ask for draft-only triage first. For Cedar, the approved answer packet might contain the workshop time, booking terms and a contact for accessibility questions. The agent should not invent a refund exception or confirm capacity from an old thread. Treat urgency as a suggestion to review, not a fact inferred from an emotional subject line.
Inbox triage and one reply draft — unexecuted
Review only [approved Cedar label/date range].
List messages as reply needed, task needed, or information only.
For each, link the source thread, state the reason and flag uncertainty.
Draft one reply using only the approved workshop answer packet.
If a requested fact is missing or contradictory, write a question for me instead.
Do not send, forward, delete, unsubscribe, change labels or open unrelated attachments.
Show intended recipients separately from the draft.
Read the original thread before accepting the reply. Check the latest message, sender, recipients, quoted text and promises. A draft belongs in the review queue until you authorize a specific send or send it yourself. If triage misses a message, tighten the rule and inspect the original inbox; do not expand access to everything as the default repair.
Prepare meetings and research from a bounded source packet
Meeting preparation needs more than a polished agenda. Give Muse the selected notes, the current calendar invitation and any permitted email thread, then request decisions needed, unanswered questions and conflicting facts. Ask it to identify missing sources instead of filling gaps with a confident account of previous meetings.
For Cedar, a useful brief separates “room confirmed” from “room requested,” names who needs to decide a change, and links the note supporting each statement. Read those links yourself. An agenda does not establish that participants agreed to recording or that the connected source may be shared with everyone invited.
For capture and participant-notice decisions, use the AI meeting assistants guide alongside your organization’s actual requirements.
For research, ask Muse to use a short list of official sources and record the page, relevant claim and unresolved question. Its browser and research skills support multi-step information gathering. A source list is not proof that every claim in the brief follows from those pages. Check publication dates, the exact plan or country addressed and any condition attached to a feature.
Meeting and research brief — unexecuted
Prepare a Cedar workshop brief from [approved notes, current invitation and official source URLs].
Separate confirmed facts, decisions needed and open questions. Link the source for each material statement.
If notes disagree, preserve both versions and ask who can resolve them.
For web research, record the page date, relevant plan/country and exact limitation.
Return an agenda and a short evidence table; mark inaccessible sources unverified.
Do not record the meeting, invite attendees, share the brief or change external records.
Ask me to review contradictions and the final audience before any distribution.
Expected output: an agenda, evidence-linked brief or comparison worksheet. It is not an independently verified report until you review it. If a page is blocked, stale or unavailable, mark the fact unverified; use normal access or another primary source. Do not instruct an agent to get around access restrictions.
Muse supports reminders and recurring tasks. State the task, frequency and timezone, then read the confirmation. The documented assistant icon → Upcoming view lets you inspect scheduled work. Recurring tasks continue until cancelled; change or cancel them explicitly and verify the new confirmation. A reminder is not a guarantee that someone completed the underlying work.
Begin with a reminder to review Cedar’s status packet rather than a standing permission to send updates. A scheduled draft needs access to current, approved evidence at run time. If the source is missing, the right output is an incomplete-status notice, not a reconstructed story about what probably happened.
Weekly status draft — proposed scheduled task
Each [day/time/timezone], prepare a Cedar status draft from [approved task list and notes].
Separate completed, in progress, blocked and unknown.
For each completed item, include the supporting record and its date.
List deadline changes, dependencies and questions needing an owner.
Do not invent completion percentages, send the update or change tasks.
If access fails, report the missing source and stop.
Show the schedule for confirmation before creating recurring work.
Check the first run and the scheduled task’s actual permissions. A recurrence can multiply a mistaken assumption. Verify that completion claims have evidence, blockers have an owner and due dates have the right timezone. If the schedule is wrong, change it and inspect Upcoming; if the draft is wrong, repair the input or task brief before allowing further runs.
When you need a maintained recurring process with explicit routing and recovery, read our n8n workflow guide. A personal-agent prompt is not a substitute for that operational design.
Use business connections for preparation before distribution
Muse for Small Business adds business-oriented skills and connections inside Muse. Meta describes working with customer messages, content and campaigns, along with tools such as Canva and professional Facebook and Instagram accounts. Inspect the connection and available actions in your account. Do not infer a universal autonomous support desk from a vendor’s example of replying to an inquiry.
Customer triage with an escalation rule
Start with a small permitted batch of customer questions and an approved answer sheet. Request topic, urgency suggestion, supporting policy and a reply draft. Leave complaints, refunds, security issues and unclear commitments for the responsible person. Avoid uploading payment details or an entire customer history just to answer a workshop-time question.
Customer inquiry review — no send authorized
Classify this approved fictional inquiry packet by topic.
Use only [current answer sheet]. For each inquiry, provide a draft or an escalation reason.
Escalate complaints, refund requests, security concerns and missing policy facts.
Do not promise availability, discounts, refunds or delivery dates absent from the sheet.
Keep customer identifiers out of the shared summary.
Do not send replies or update customer records.
Expected output is a review queue, not resolved tickets. Check policy version, factual promises and actual recipients. When a policy contradicts a customer’s message, ask the owner to resolve it. Repeating the same instruction with more confident wording will not resolve the missing fact.
Social planning and document preparation
For social planning, give Muse a brand brief, permitted facts, audience and channel. Ask for a week of drafts with the claim source and any artwork requirement. Review product claims, image rights, customer permission and tone before scheduling or publishing. Separate a content plan from permission to publish or spend on advertising.
Muse artifacts support document and spreadsheet work, including documented PDF, DOCX, XLSX and CSV formats. Upload a task-scoped source packet, request the format and inspect the resulting file and Library record. Check formulas, tables, missing sections and sharing permissions; a useful chat answer can still produce an incomplete exported file.
For presentations, use a supported Canva connection when it is available and approved, or ask for a slide outline and speaker notes to move into your normal presentation tool. The artifact guide we reviewed does not establish native PPTX support. Do not promise a PowerPoint export merely because an agent can create documents.
Social and presentation preparation — unexecuted
Use only [approved Cedar brand brief, facts and licensed artwork list].
Prepare a week of social draft ideas and a five-slide workshop outline.
Attach the source for each factual claim and flag any unsupported promise.
For each slide, give a heading, main point, proposed visual and speaker note.
Request missing facts or artwork rights; do not substitute invented customer stories.
Do not publish, schedule posts, contact customers or spend on ads.
If an approved Canva connection is available, first describe the proposed editable artifact for review. Otherwise return the outline.
Before external sharing, show the exact recipients and format; I will inspect the actual file.
Manage data, browser access and a task that goes wrong
Review Settings → Data controls before supplying work material. Meta’s current help says Help improve our AI models is initially on; the documented opt-out is switching it off and choosing Turn off. It says this choice applies to previous interactions too. That is a training control, not proof that every stored file, conversation, memory or downstream copy has been erased.
Disconnecting an app stops future exchange but can leave earlier history and memories. Message deletion, memory handling, exporting data and resetting Muse are separate controls. Meta describes forgetting as best-effort. Reset is irreversible and removes active work too; understand the effect before using it as a cleanup shortcut. Organizational approval and retention requirements still apply.
The Mac app can work with local files and applications. Full Disk Access is a broad macOS permission; it is not required merely to demonstrate a cloud calendar workflow. App-level Off, Read only and Read and interact controls are distinct. Review Muse’s file-system settings and macOS Privacy & Security when granting or revoking access.
For browser tasks, Open browser → Take control pauses the agent, and Stop the task ends it. Use these controls when a form, target account or requested action differs from the brief. Some actions, including sent email, cannot be undone. Stopping a task does not recall an already delivered message.
A completed-sounding response is not destination evidence. Inspect the service before retrying an uncertain write; this proposed recovery process avoids treating a missing confirmation as proof that no action occurred.
Recover from a specific failure before expanding accessSwipe or scroll horizontally to compare every column.

Meta describes isolation, separate credential and permission domains and defenses against malicious instructions. These are documented protections, not evidence of immunity to errors or prompt injection. Its current Secure VM is distinct from a future Confidential VM. The security explanation also distinguishes no direct sharing of VM/conversation data with Meta ads from downstream browsing or purchasing activity that can influence advertising.
If behavior remains unexpected, use Settings → Report an issue and provide the relevant task details without adding credentials or unrelated personal records. For high-impact financial, legal, health or employment decisions, use qualified human review and the appropriate authorized process. An agent’s ability to prepare information does not make it the responsible decision-maker.
Questions to answer before expanding the workflow
Can I use Meta Muse in Pakistan?
The sources reviewed establish US and Canada availability and warn of regional differences. They do not confirm Pakistan access. Check Meta’s official sign-up and availability information for your account. An accessible English help page or a developer API announcement is insufficient evidence of a personal-agent rollout.
Does Muse Wonder power every Muse account now?
The 12 October announcement describes developer availability and forthcoming personal Muse rollout, subscribers first. Verify your actual account rather than assuming the new model is available to every free or paid user.
Will Muse send email or change my calendar automatically?
It can perform supported connected-service actions subject to available controls and permissions. Choose settings deliberately, begin with proposals, inspect the approval scope and verify any authorized change in the original service. Do not assume all tasks require a fresh confirmation after granting a broader allowance.
Can I ask it to make slides or run my whole business?
You can prepare a source-backed slide brief and use documented connections such as Canva where available. Verify editing/export in the tool you actually use. Business capabilities do not remove responsibility for customer commitments, publication, spending, data protection or maintenance. Start with a bounded review queue rather than an unattended business promise.
How do I know whether it is saving work?
Run your own small permitted pilot and record the time spent preparing inputs, reviewing claims, checking actions and repairing mistakes. Compare the useful final result with your ordinary process. This guide supplies no measured saving. A fast draft that creates an unnoticed wrong commitment is not a successful workflow.
For your first task, choose one result you can inspect in a few minutes: tomorrow’s proposed schedule, one reply draft or a brief from three approved notes. Delegate the scope, review the evidence and approve only what you mean to authorize. Expand when your own experience shows that the whole process—not just the first answer—is reliable enough for the work.
